Recognizing the nation's most distinguished geotechnical firms and professionals since the discipline's founding principles were laid into bedrock.
The International Geotechnical Society stands as the preeminent authority in recognizing excellence within the geotechnical engineering profession.
From our headquarters in the heart of Nashville, Tennessee—a city built upon the ancient limestone foundations of the Cumberland Basin—we have cultivated an organization that understands both the science beneath our feet and the professionals who dedicate their careers to understanding it.
Our mission extends beyond mere recognition. We are the architects of professional standards, the curators of engineering excellence, and the bridge connecting distinguished practitioners across every geological terrain of this nation.
To identify, recognize, and celebrate the firms and individuals who exemplify the highest standards of geotechnical engineering practice.
A profession where excellence is not merely achieved but celebrated, documented, and elevated as the standard to which all aspire.
We divide the United States into eight distinct geotechnical regions, each with its unique geological character, challenges, and community of distinguished practitioners.
